So I figured I’d take a shot at this weeks, The League of Extraordinary Bloggers assignment, and this week it’s what I’m thankful for, so here’s my top 13 things of 2013 I’m thankful for.
I’m Thankful For:
13 – My massive movie collection, sure it may be just a bit out of control, at least in my girlfriends mind, but I worked at multiple retail stores, Suncoast, Sam Goody, Software Etc and Game stop, so with discounts at all of them you know I had to have built a bit of a collection. And with the almost non-exsistant rental scene anymore, it’s like having a rental store at my fingertips every time I go to find something to watch, I’ve even got overpriced microwave popcorn always on the ready just in case.
12 -Technology, sure it’s pretty easily said, but look at how much it’s influenced each and every aspect of our lives, you have to toss it out to the ability to bid on an online auction, like some random friends photo, make a video call, learn a new skill, watch some jackass get hit in the nuts, see more cats then you ever need to all while taking a selfie, all in a small box carried in our pocket. Technology it’s the wave of the future.
11 – Holiday TV specials, with every holiday now thrown in our face, from black Friday to Christmas we’re overloaded with way too much buy, buy, buy, when all the season should be about is remembering those around you in your life, and cause you have to love how just a simple 30 mins of animation can make you remember the joy in a holiday and make you feel like a child again.
10 – Comic Book, they’ve been showing me worlds of wonder, for as long as I can remember, where Heroes and Villains, clash in a never ending struggle to save the world from itself, and others. They were my inspiration into art, I’d sit for hours as a kid drawing the images, studying the styles, it was a perfect way to learn.
9 – Toys, those small collectables and trinkets that amass all over my office, and bring back both good and old memories, not only for me but those around me as well.
8 – Creativity, I love that I’ve constantly got one or two new projects going at a given time, and having the ability to adapt to bring those ideas to fruition no matter the medium.
7 – Music, it’s the thing that puts the boogie in our day. From the moment I get up to the moment I lay down, I’ll have either a song on the radio, or buzzing in my head, sometimes I feel as if my mind is just a internal radio, that I can flip through the catalog of music I’ve heard and loved. I may not know all the words, but what’s it matter as long as the beat is good.
6 – Coffee, you wake me in the dreariest of mornings, and warm me on the coldest of days, and with Christmas coming up, there’s Candy Canes everywhere, that I can crush up to add to my thermos in the morning, to just add that special Holiday feeling to every sip.
5 – My Job, even though at times it may be trying, it helps me to have a life I’m comfortable with, and the ability to pursue the things that I love. Oh and I can now get all the toys I wanted as a kid but couldn’t afford…my dad said get a job if you want that, well here’s showing him.
4 – Thanksgiving dinner, every year I make a big Turkey and dinner, and just open my door to those friends and family that don’t have a place to enjoy some food and fun on the Holiday and have done this for the past 10 years, and will continue to celebrate it this way, as that’s really what it’s all about.
3 – This site, it’s providing me a way to show off and explore all the things I enjoy, I’ve only been doing it for a while, but each time I check the site to see that new posting, it makes me happy to see, and gets the next idea swirling in my head.
2 – Family, to the greatest parents around, to a great sister and her husband and my niece and nephew, to my extended family, each and everyone of them is an amazing person that’s helped me to become who I am today, and I have to say they’ve done a pretty good job so far.
1 – To my lady, she’s made this past year and a few months the greatest of my life, I enjoy each and every day I get to spend with her, and laugh with her, and walk with her through this crazy thing we call life. She makes it worth all the troubles of the everyday to be able to come home and see her.
Here’s a couple other Leaguers and what they’re thankful for as well.
